Has anyone got a Ruggable Rug?

I was wondering what you think? We are thinking of one for the front hall. It’s quite a big space and the rig would likely be used for a bit of foot wiping too.

We have 3 small children and a garden, so mud, leaves etc.

Thank you!

Following with interest. The price massively puts me off but they do have some really nice designs.

Luckystar1 · 15/12/2021 08:40

I like the idea of it being washable and it seems fairly lightweight in that I would easily move it to hoover.

But yes, the price, if they are just the emperor’s new clothes, is massively off putting!

I looked into them but decided the price was just too much; would be interested in finding out a bit more from anyone who has got one though.
Must also block them from my Facebook feed, pops up all the time, another thing that puts me off.

ApolloandDaphne · 15/12/2021 08:51

I keep looking at them too. A washable rug would be great in our sitting room.

I have one and it’s lovely. Very pleased with it. And I do think it’s worth the money…
But…….
………….my friend pointed out to me that it’s wayyyyy too big to fit in my washing machine 🤦🏽‍♀️

Swisscheeseleaves · 15/12/2021 09:09

I noticed there was a few comments on their Facebook page about some of the rugs being too big to fit in a domestic washing machine.

roses2 · 15/12/2021 09:36

It must be quite thin if it can fit in a washing machine? I bought a carpet washer for £150 and use that to regularly wash the hallway carpet (in addition to bedroom carpet and living room rugs).

fitzbilly · 15/12/2021 09:40

I love mine, it looks very good quality, stays put and is s lovely design.

Lightswitch123 · 15/12/2021 09:41

They are over priced and don't fit in a normal washing machine!!

GotToGoBye · 15/12/2021 09:45

Yes it’s lovely, stays in place but . . . is too big for washing machine and will have to bring to communal large one in nearby town. To me this is ok as will not need constant washing, just occasional

ElfCalavicci · 15/12/2021 09:47

I like the idea of them too .
I did wonder if they would fit in a washer , I guess it depends on the size of the rug

I want one about 4x3 foot but I don't think it will fit in my washer.

fitzbilly · 15/12/2021 10:27

I don't think they are overpriced. Good quality rugs are expensive. These are not thousands.

Luckystar1 · 15/12/2021 10:34

Oh thank you all, that’s really useful!

I have one! It’s big and fits in my 10kg washer with no issues. It’s been an absolute godsend with two dogs, a cat and a baby

I agree. I saw a very similar one in John Lewis for around £1k and my one from ruggable was around a third of the price.

eca80 · 15/12/2021 11:56

I have the largest and it just barely fits in my 9kg washer - 10kg washer would be better. I also find them easier than normal rugs to spot clean, so haven’t needed to put in washer as often as I was expecting.

The top layer is rather thin, but with the underlay it feels like a normal rug. If using on hardwood or stone, I would definitely recommend the extra thick underlay.

I have two and love them - in particular the one in my dining room with two young children!

Luckystar1 · 15/12/2021 11:58

Thank you this is so, so useful!

I was looking at these rugs at the weekend so glad I came across this thread. I thought the rugs looked lovely and I do not think they are overly expensive. I was drawn to the fact they were washable because I am looking to get a dog soon. I appreciate it is not the same but I had a king size mattress protector from John Lewis and it is meant to be machine washable. I unzipped the top of it and went to put it in the machine and there is no way it was going to fit. I felt a bit silly so I took it to the launderette and put it in the industrial machine and it cost £7 and it came out lovely so I would be happy to buy a rug now I know I can take it to the launderette.

The ruggable rugs seem like a great price to me? Large format rugs are usually thousands!
