Kitchen (green smoke) paint advice

So three months later I still haven't painted my kitchen! It's green smoke, north facing, quite dark. The counter is a white/grey marble laminate, and much more dull than I wanted but hey ho that's what we have. Light grey tile on the floor.

I've been trialling and testing loads and I've (I think) narrowed it down to a few warm off whites with red/yellow undertones which warm the space up but also don't clash with the white/grey countertop.
Wondering about (a) F&B Dimity, (b) LG Ferdinand, (c) F&B Lime White.

Anyone have any thoughts on these? Really struggling to think how to pick a warm colour that won't clash with the greys. I don't like anything grey as a rule, and anything pink is out.

Ignore the awful orange door which will eventually be painted!

I know it's not warm, but I'd go lilac.

Do you not think a warm white might clash with the grey, which is on the cool side?

I'd go with something less cream, so Strong White. Or even Wevet if you want a touch of lilac, as PP above suggested. I'd go Strong White though.

Yeah that's exactly the problem. I really picked the wrong countertop (quick decision at the end of a LOT of kitchen decisions!) and in a north facing kitchen it really needs something to warm it up a bit. But thanks for the advice!

I love the green smoke!
Think you tend to want to create a contrast between worktop and unit colour so painting units a white colour might not look how you want either. Navy blue is generally a popular choice with white veined marble worktops

WhatAWasteOfOranges · 11/12/2021 13:37

Or maybe keep green smoke on the bottom units and change the wall units/ shelving to a lighter colour to blend into the wall a bit to have the kitchen look a bit less “heavy”

niairin · 11/12/2021 13:59

Sorry I should have said, its the walls I am painting, cabinets are staying!

I did wonder if you meant cabinets or walls! I assumed walls.

I think the cabinets look gorgeous, and the grey worktop does too. Just a 'cool' white or even just plain white (All White) would look great no? I have a north facing kitchen too and Strong White looks good (I think!). My worktop is white marble and cabinets a sort of cool white from Naked Doors.

Our kitchen is LG Ambleside which is almost the same as Green Smoke and we've kept the walls very white - LG Shirting. It works well. I'd worry about going too off white with the walls as it might distract from the beautiful colour of the cabinets

WhatAWasteOfOranges · 11/12/2021 17:25

Ah that makes so much more sense 😂 cause the colour was in the title I assumed that was the bit you were changing!

TremoloGreen · 11/12/2021 21:08

I would go with Pink Ground or Calamine (test both to see which works best as I can't tell from the photo)

Second choice if you want to play it safe would be All White.

Of the ones you mention, I would go with Dimity.

The thought of painting around the kitchen gives me a slight headache and I would want it to look pretty different to what is already there!

Our kitchen designer loves LG French grey pale number 161 (well the colour matched version from Johnson’s paints). Think it would go well with your kitchen.
