Shutters and new double glazing…

In the next five years we will need new double glazing. I want to get shutters though asap, will they be able to be removed without damaging them when the time comes to get the new windows fitted?

We were told by our shutter company that they can't be removed and that if any works are done it would invalidate any warranty.

I'm sure that it would have been possible to remove them and refit but the company were less than helpful!

It would depend if the shutters are fixed on the recess away from the window frames. You should have some distance to play with but I would be concerned about new larger handles on any new windows. I have shutters and doubled glazed windows and the windows would have been fitted later because the shutters are forward from the windows. If you don’t have cavity walls it could be an issue though.

Are you having shutters in all rooms? Can you not do windows and shutters in some rooms at the same time?

We had our windows fitted without the shutters being removed or damaged in any way. It didn't seem to be an issue at all.
