Best way to get paint off new oak flooring?

We are currently going through a house refurb and due to delayed plasters I had to get painters in after our oak matt lacquered flooring was laid. Not ideal but not much I could do. Painters have been gone and been paid, thought they had done a good job but as I'm looking in more detail there are quite a few specks of paint on my floor. Most I have been able to gently scrap off with my nail but some have gone into the natural texture of the floor.

Any ideas? I don't want to scrap harder and leave marks and I'm scared of using anything strong on the floor as I don't want to leave patches where it's going to look different.

First World problem I know but I'm really gutted.

Emulsion should wash off with hot soapy water, I got it off my laminate like that.

I often use the edge of an old credit card. As it’s plastic it doesn’t cause the marks that a metal scraper does.

I now keep all my expired credit cards, they come in very useful for all sorts of jobs like this.

@sleepymum50 I'll try the card trick but I think a cc will be too thick to get into the tiny textured grooves, I can just fit my nail into them.

I'll try the hot soapy water and see what that does, tbh part of the problem is me being a bit precious with water and wood flooring...flashbacks to our old oak counter top that went black!

Baby wipes are great to get emulsion off.

Try a wipe and a toothbrush for the grooves.

I second a baby wipe. Tesco own brand unscented have removed oil based gloss from wooden floors for me!

What is the oak surfaced with? Oil, varnish?
At worst you may have to sand it off, but I'd try everything else above first, starting with the least aggressive and working up.
