Fohen boiling water tap or quooker?

We’re having a new bespoke kitchen fitted. The designer is very knowledgeable about brands and makes - he seems to know his stuff and is quite passionate about it which is slightly nerdy but excellent for us! He’s suggesting a Fohen boiling water tap. We’ve not heard of this brand and can’t seem to find many reviews for them. Other friends have said we should go for a quooker instead. The designer said he really guest think they are worth the extra expense. Other friends have said they’ve had bad experiences with quooker. We’re stuck! Do we pay extra for quooker (I’d say it would be around £300 more) or save our cash?

We went for a Qooker mainly because as far as I could see it was the only one that did 100 degrees which I wanted for tea. Also they seem reliable and well known. It's a f*ck of a lot of money for a tap but hey, it's the first and probably last time I'll get to do a kitchen from scratch so we kind of went all in.

I quite like having one - but I'm not sure it's a must have.

We have Frankie Omnitap, recommended as better than Quooker.

I've had a Quooker for ten years, serviced twice and the spout changed once. Absolutely no complaints at all.

Soft water area though if that makes a difference.

I’m planning our new kitchen at the moment and have also been researching boiling water taps.

From what I can gather Quooker were pretty much the first but loads more are available now and seem just as good. I’ve seen good things about the Fohen ones on some of the Instagram kitchens I’ve been following.

The Qettle one is also a lot cheaper and gets good reviews.

I definitely want one that goes to 100 degrees which they don’t all do so just check that.

I’ve got a Qettle, absolutely love it. Way cheaper than Qooker and does 100 degrees. Never heard of the other brand you mention OP, but I’d recommend Qettle.

What about the constantly boiling water- I never boil a kettle twice because it’s not good for you apparently. I was looking at a boiling tap but they constantly refill so that you would be using water boiled all day and reboiled. This worries me about it. I’m designing my next kitchen and thinking about this. Qooker was on offer for 20 percent off last week but I hesitated for this reason. Am I worrying for nothing?

I would also recommend Qettle

@Cissyandflora I constantly reboil water, have never had an issue. I know what you mean though, I probably would go for one of the smaller tanks for that reason and I suppose you could drain it each morning or something?

Had a Franke and had so many issues with it that Franke gave me a full refund after 18 months. They also replaced boiler 3 times and tap once! Moved to a Quooker and have never looked back. Wish we had also put one in the utility as well! We have the boiling, hot and cold rather than the cube.
