Who would you recommend [or not] for a loft conversion?

Hi all, in light of the recent wind and the falling of tiles from my roof, I have decided to bring my far-off plans for a re-roofing and loft conversion forward.

So, has anyone got any recommendations for companies from the last few years? Or any I should avoid?

If you know of any that will also do a new roof at the same time, that would be fantastic.

Now I'm off to search old threads too.

If you can help, thank you very much in advance. :)

Whereabouts in the country are you?

Depends where you are. Have you asked friends/ family/ colleagues for recommendations?

I'm in the North West and don't know anyone who's had one done.

A new roof is a pretty standard part of a loft conversion.
Local recommendations is the best way to find a builder.
If you don't know anyone who has had any building work done, look for scaffolding on houses in the neighbourhood, the builders usually have some branding in the scaffolding and vans. Call a few, ask for quotes and references.
A good builder will have good enough relationship with some previous clients that you can go and look at the work and talk to people about their experience with the builder. I have had potential clients over for a quick look and chat for my builder.
Decent builders don't have to advertise generally, they get all their work through word of mouth.
( I'm in south east so can't help with recommendations)
