Laying wooden oak laminate flooring - doorways

We are looking to get new flooring throughout. It’s oak parquet, well that’s what it’s called here but I think it’s laminate or engineered wood in uk? Ie oak layer ontop not solid.

Trying to get local fitters who say it’s not possible to lay going through doorways, but we have to have transition metal strips at each doorway due to warping.

We laid bamboo solid flooring ourselves on the other side of house 2 years ago and no warping but it doesn’t really go through each room due to slight level differences so I can’t really compare

Anyway. Was hoping to get professionals to fit this time due to 1 year old now not really making it easy to diy, but they declare it’s not possible, and it’s ‘old’ style which will cause issues. They want €5000+ to install, so it’s back to the drawing board and looking like we will install ourselves again.
Will it be a mistake to run through? Or do we have to add the awful metal transition strips? ( wood strips no longer sold here either so would have to make if used)

You can do it with wooden door bars not metal but the reason for it is expansion. You seem to be talking about engineered wood (layer of real wood on top of hard board) not laminate (paper photo of wood on hardboard). Engineered wood is more stable than solid wood and doesn’t expand and contract as much but you still need to take into account the movement as the humidity changes.

Having said that, you might be able to go through if the rooms are small.

Yes I think it’s engineered wood. Here they call it Parkett laminate but it’s not parquet patten. It 14mm total, and yes actual wood on top layer.

The rooms aren’t large, 15-20m2 each, with square hallway between each room. Hence it will look better without the strips imo. But I don’t want to spend all the time and money laying it and then it warp.
Will have thick new skirting boards so it will have space underneath to expand.
The solid bamboo required 12mm expansion gap

The doorway will serve as an expansion gap. They will generally do door bars to match.

Here parquet is solid blocks of wood generally glued down in patterns.

Definitely no doorway expansion gaps to match, only metal available, so will have to order from uk if we choose this.

Yes I know, we had solid proper parquet in our old flat in uk, hence terms rather confusing

Ok. So still unsure what’s best

It will depend on the total size of the area. We were told once you get over 50m2 it’s best to break it into different sections

110m2 total, but that’s upstairs, downstairs and the stairs. And each broken into several rooms and hallways so no large open plan expanse.

We have engineered, oak flooring that runs from the front door, though the hall, into a bathroom (it's a bungalow) into the kitchen diner, with no joints at the doors. Where it meets two bedrooms, which are carpeted, there are wooden thresholds.
