Instant Hot Water Tap

Samcotton85 · 30/10/2021 16:10

Hi girls,

Can anyone recommend an instant hot water tap for my kitchen sink? I am looking for one that also has a water filter with it to clean up the cold water too. I have seen the Quooker ones are meant to be really good but a little expensive.

Any alternatives?

I have a Franke one and it’s been excellent - never had a problem with it. Just bear in mind the filters are quite expensive as well. About £45 and I go through 3/4 a year

Mine is insinkerator, it's great!

We didn't pay for it though, was in the house when we bought it.

We have this one from Victoria Plumping and we love it. The filter is just for the boiling water though.

We have a grohe. Literally just installed it, but so far so good

Does it have a water filter to make the drinking water healthier?

Samcotton85 you can get that though we didn't as we live in an area with good water.

Roselilly36 · 30/10/2021 19:47

I was thinking of buying one of these, plumber put me off, as we live in a hard water area, said it wouldn’t last long due to limescale etc, also I didn’t want to lose half of my under sink cupboard. Went with a Brita filter tap in the end, we have an induction hob so water boils very quickly anyway for cooking.

Cookerhood · 30/10/2021 19:50

We have a quooker. It's brilliant, I would be without it. We live in a very hard water area & have to change the filter quite often.

claireb7rg · 30/10/2021 19:59

We have a 4 way franke tap (normal hot and cold, filtered cold and filtered 100 degree boiling)
Filters are about £40-45 every 3 -6 months depending on how much use and what sort of water you have, we have very hard water and use it multiple times a day (I'm wfh and drink a lot of tea and water) and we change it every 3-4 months

We love it and wouldn't go back to a kettle now

I've had a quooker at a rental and after three years no issues. It doesn't take up that much space either. I've just had one installed in my new kitchen. I don't need a filter so got the 3 in 1. Love it.

GuckGuckDoose · 30/10/2021 20:44

Avoid the Abode Pronteau range, ours was never up to temp despite repeated recalibration and flow rate was absolute rubbish.

SpeakingFranglais · 31/10/2021 05:28

I have a Quooker too, serviced twice in ten years and the spout replaced, other than that it’s outlived two washers and two dishwashers.

SpeakingFranglais · 31/10/2021 05:29

Never changed a filter on mine although it’s been done on the service, soft water here,

MoveAhoy · 31/10/2021 06:12

A 3in1 in insinkerator hot tap was here when we moved in. Used it for a few days then we gave away our kettle. It has a filter but we also use a water softener. Bees knees.

I have bookmarked these Lusso Stone taps for when we have our kitchen done - they are cheaper than others I’ve seen and from a good brand. But I think they’re quite new, so no user reviews…

How do you stop kids from burning themselves with these? I like the idea but are they safe ?

Finals1234 · 31/10/2021 13:08

I have a quooker but also have water softener installed. I absolutely love it.

Cookerhood · 31/10/2021 15:12

The quooker has a safety device in the way you turn it on. Also it comes out with air in it which somehow makes it less likely to burn so much (or so they said!)

Cookerhood · 31/10/2021 15:13

Explained here

So on ours the normal hot & cold tap like a standard tap is on the left and very obvious and easy to use. The boiling bit is just an unobtrusive knob on the other side which requires a push-turn motion similar to a child safe medicine bottle cap.
Summersdreaming · 31/10/2021 15:40

Makes sense, thanks
