How to use deep kitchen drawers

New kitchen and we have 2 deep drawers in place of a cupboard for storing our plates, bowls and glasses etc. But I'm a bit lost at how best to organise and use the space. What do other people with these drawers do? Should I buy dividers?

I keep all my plates and bowls in deep drawers.
I didn't get dividers or organizers when I ordered the kitchen as I wanted to see how they functioned.
I bought a roll of good quality cut to size non slip liners and haven't bothered with anything else. Works perfectly and cost me under £20 for dunno, 5 or 6 drawers

If your drawers are good quality you shouldn't be able to slam them shut.

We use ours for pans and other kitchen bits!

We have some of these hidden drawer they are useful for cutlery and I store bin bags and rolls of cling film etc in them!

I've got one with stacks of plates / bowls and kids stuff as they can reach it. Just in piles, no organisation.

Then one as all our tableware and random cooking things eg cheese grater / sieve and is arranged using a stacking cups / Russian dolls approach so round things stacked inside other larger round things, rectangles in another pile.

Organised piles with those adjustable lift-out handled holders IKEA does. All the china in there except mugs. It's much better lifting them up and out than trying to use a shallow wall cupbiard or low, deeper one. I had the drawers custom made so I knew how I was using them! Bottom one for saucepans etc.

Makes it so easy to put everything away straight from the dishwasher!

I bought the ikea lift out plate holders but ended up returning them as the plates stay put without them

the internal drawers are handy, you can put dividers or trays in them for small things like cutlery, utensils, spices, cups.

it depends how many huge things you have. Ours will fit a Chef, which is quite big, and its box of accessories, also coffee machine, toaster, kettle if you are sort of person who thinks a kitchen should be tidy. heaps of cooking pans and roasters in the bottom one (as they are light to lift out) and you can put bottles in, upright.

Our drawers are 360mm high at the fascia, so two in each unit, but I think I have seen them in smaller depths so you can have three, or one big and two small. The drawer mechanism can be fitted anywhere to suit the drawer-fronts you have.

Blum runners have a soft-close that slows them down to prevent slamming, then pulls them shut slowly.

We have two banks of drawers, one shallow for cutlery and spices (lying down); one deep for crockery and below that all the mixing bowls etc. The remaining deep drawers hold smaller pans. Blush I have a vast amount of kitchen equipment.

I bought a rack thing from Amazon which makes the most of the space for trays etc. We also have a hidden drawer for cutlery as above!

Mine are soft close I don't need dividers. I keep plates and bowls in one and pots and pans below.

ah, individual drawers.

ours are 800mm wide (have previously had 1000mm)

the wider ones don't waste space at the joins, and you have more choice to put big things in and spread them around.

you can get quite a variety of drawer liners, including ones that hold dinner plates on edge like a drainer.

They do need frequent cleaning bi find ours get a lot of dropped crumbs etc inside
