This house needs some work, but will it always look tired and dated, especially the exterior? I would really like to hear opinions.

Thank you all so so so much for all your replies, some are so detailed and I'm so thankful for your time. I don't think I can get past the size of the back garden to start with so I may have to move on from this one to find 'the one'.

Problem is we have a buyer who has given a good offer so I feel the pressure is on to find a house. I had shortlisted 10 properties from Rightmove and when I rang up the estate agents to book viewings, 9/10 had gone under offer!!! Prices also seem to be going up by the week!

Don’t be rushed into making a bad decision to keep your buyer OP. Traditionally not much on the market at this time of year, as usually people do not want to be moving around Christmas. We are looking to buy an investment purchase, very limited selection of properties available, so we will keep looking, but more than likely wait until spring. Good luck.

The houses look like this in the roads around us. They look dated but they are big and airy. We are in the south so they cost £500k - £600k. Wish I could buy one for £300k!

Would renting be an option OP so you don’t miss out on the sale of yours?
It would put you in a strong position as a buyer too if you’ve already sold?
Just a thought as we are thinking of going on the market and are keeping an eye on rentals in case that would be an option.

I think it's got bags of potential.
I also think it looks early 70s rather than 60s but I'm no expert.
Personally, I'd be keeping the bathroom tiles!

Have you registered your details with all of the EAs so they can contact you before the properties make it onto Rightmove?

I really like it Op. I would defo change the front door but I don’t think it looks dated outside. I love the really small sitting room. I would make that into a cosy snug (no kids allowed)! It’s got loads of potential.

I think the exterior is quite appealing. I was expecting much worse.

The inside, well, personally I'd want to replace kitchen and bathroom/s, remove the wardrobes/built in arrangements, and skim/paint throughout. But the rooms seem like good sizes and the light is good. Lots to like about it.
