Gas cooker hot zone

I'm having trouble getting a gas cooker fitted. I have wall cupboards that are in line with the very edges of the hob, but without the required clearance and also some wood trim on the work surface within the clearance zone.

Is there any way round having to remodel part of the kitchen to get a new one fitted?

Could you go slightly smaller in width, is it a freestanding cooker? Or would it look a bit gappy, how much is it out by?

It's a 60cm freestanding cooker that's just flush with the work surface. It's out by around 1.5cm both sides

Have you bought the cooker, could you change it for a 55cm one, that would be the easiest solution, we have a 55cm Stoves mini range electric and there were a few more cookers of that size when we bought ours, the one we bought also came in dual fuel

I did have a 55cm cooker - but found it too small and reconfigured the kitchen to fit a 60cm (before the hot zone regulations changed) - so I suppose going back to a 55cm one would be an option if all else fails!

Could you have 60cm induction or electric, is the hot zone the same as there is no flame.

My research via Google is that the hot zone is the same for both unfortunately

I’m having to replace my range cooker (it’s ancient) I’m thinking of all electric but I’ve only ever been used to gas. It will be a 100cm one and looking for one that you don’t have to leave the grill door open and one that has slow cook mode?

Two questions, are you replacing like for like? And who have you asked to fit the new unit? If it’s replacing like for like with no previous issues a gas safe fitter will install. If you are wanting install via the retailer such as AO.com or Curry’s will only fit if the space conforms to the latest requirements, even if the gas oven/hob has been perfectly fine in the existing space.
