Worktops for pale grey cabinets

I'm at a loss as to what colour worktops to go with a very pale grey gloss kitchen. I was thinking wood and wooden flooring but not sure that would go so much with a gloss kitchen? I know I don't want a dark worktop and dark floor.... But not sure whether a very dark grey might look better?

I found this image which is the same colour as our cabinets (except not quite as modern and curved), do people think the wood works?

Cheers

White composite, wooden tops are a nightmare to maintain.

Even laminate?

Ugh definitely not fake wooden worktops! If you use laminate there are more realistic stone ones.
I almost used a composite made to look like concrete- the stone guy had an overstock done offered a good price, but it was too beige fit my black and white kitchen - but if you can find it in a darker grey it would look fabulous. Matt texture.
I think black would be too dark. I'd go with a white marble effect (not the kind that looks like varicose veins).

The ones I have seen with this colour the worktops have been white. Lifts the colour and doesn’t make it too dark. I would do white. But as in your picture the wood looks lovely to

I've got oak colour laminate worktops and dark wood colour floor. It's not the poshest, but it gets loads of compliments and I think it looks nice.

I think the wood works. Depends on the layout. Wood is difficult to look after around the sink. Could you have a different work top on there? I have recently seen a white marble with light grey marbling. It looked lovely.

We have a Dekton lunar top with pale grey. Quite an industrial look, but good if that’s what you like.

We've got beech worktops (cream painted wood units) and it's no trouble to maintain - a quick sanding and oiling every once in a while (we just usually get a trusted person we use to come in and do it while we're away).
