How to pick a surveyor?

I am looking to get a homebuyers survey done on a house i am buying, but who do i choose?

Option 1: £650 for survey and valuation. Nice sounding guy, local, independent, good reviews. Offers call day before and after and 2 day turnaround on the report

Option 2: £570 for survey & valuation. National company, but independent of estate agents / solicitors.

Option 3: £620 Local, attached to an EA (but not EA involved in sale). Recommended by solicitor (but that might also be because they are based next door). First quote wrong (for someone else) and were slow to correct. Mis quoting has put me off tbh, it's too expensive to have a slapdash report, but I appreciate everyone makes mistakes and solicitor recommendation holds weight.

Is there much difference between a bog standard cheaper national guy, who I will never see or speak to vs being able to talk and ask specific questions of the actual surveyor? Especially as I understand the report is just a standard template. All options are RICS accrediated

The house is 20yrs old, in good nick, although tired. A small amount of (probably thermal) cracking on house exterior.

The first guy sounds good. The homebuyers report is fairly formulaic, though some add quite a bit of detail. I also would always go local as there may be idiosyncratic issues particular to the area.
The third one is definitely one to avoid!
