I'm old enough where I really should've sussed this out by now but I haven't!
So...we live in a 2 bed/2 bath flat. All heating is electric (smart WiFi controlled heating) and hot water is provided via a water tank. One shower is electric, the other thermostatic (off the water tank). We have a boiling water tap in kitchen.
Our bills are astronomical. Our heating hasn't been used since around March/April but (with actual readings) we are paying about £90 a month for electricity. Good tariff so that's not the issue.
The only thing I can think of is that I'm not using the water tank correctly. I have it set to heat up for 15 minutes a day (don't know why really) and when I want a bath (twice a week, no more than that) I turn on the boost for 2 hours.
Should I have the tank heating the water for 2/3 hours a day instead? Even though it will never be used that often? Am I making it work harder by only heating it twice a week?
