How is your IKEA kitchen holding up?

There was a similar thread about DIY kitchens. I'm investigating replacing the kitchen at the moment I'm hoping people will chip in with their IKEA experiences as I've seen some units there I quite like.

We had one in our previous house which had been in 14 years, new owners have changed the worktops to update it and have no plans to change the carcases. Seriously considering another Ikea for my new house

My parents have one that is 14 years old, ours is 3. Their kitchen is immaculate, and a lot of the reason we went for one. We also rented a house that had one in and it was perfect.

I think the carcasses are sturdy, and they have great drawer configurations and infill options. I also wouldn't feel guilty replacing/upgrading the doors at a certain point. We got wooden countertops which we possibly should have taken better care of - they still look great but I can see some slight wear and tear near the sink - but again they were so much cheaper than the stone equivalents we could fully replace them after five years and we'd have to do that four times to pay the equivalent cost of stone.

Absolutely no regrets here.

14 years and still going. Still get positive comments. May change worktop soon to freshen.

Im on my 2nd one so only 3 yes so far - I love it.
Previous one was in around 8 years before I moved out but was in perfect condition.

15 years so far with no issues.

Oooh thanks, guys, that sounds promising! I wonder if the more recently manufactured ones are as good quality?

Ours is about 15 years old. A few little bits have needed to be fixed recently (hinges failed on one of the cupboard doors for example) but basically it is still a good, fully functioning kitchen. I still like the style of it too and would probably choose something very similar again if we were to move.

We've moved into a house with IKEA kitchen from probably 10 years ago. The great thing about the Metod cabinets is everything is still compatible so we've been able to update drawers with new inserts which better suits our needs. Not so sure on the newer ranges.
