Fake stone tiles

This is my last ditch attempt to find fake limestone tiles for my renovation project.

I cannot afford the stone I like and besides, the maintenance of the stone is putting me off a bit.

That said, I really really want that rough and tumbled edging of a limestone tile, along with the slight variations in colour.

I cannot find anything remotely close to what I want! Some porcelain tiles are marketed as imitating limestone but nothing comes close to what I want.

Am I missing anything here or is there a gap in the market?! Help!

That's beautiful. I'm concerned about its upkeep though.

How much did it cost to have it laid? Does it absorb grease stains? How do you clean it? What colour is your grout?

Thanks!

I'm sorry i have no idea how much it was to pay as it was put down as a whole kitchen extension and my DH sorted out the finer details and he can't remember either (we didn't keep records of anything really).

The chap who put it down also bought the sealant from the same company and painted it on as he was laying it - that was 6 years ago and we've not had it sealed or professionally cleaned since. I just hoover and mop it (mop it once a week). The mottled effect is really forgiving of any stains as they kind of blend in lol! I dropped a bottle of olive oil a few years ago and it made no difference to it at all.

My house is a barn and quite countrified so the rustic look suits it, it wouldn't be smart enough for a modern house i don't think.

The grout we got was too pale i think, should have got one more suited to the colour of the tiles.

Shall i try and find a photo of my kitchen and either PM you it or post it here?

These tiles are really good, I put them in the kitchen and put the matched outdoor ones on the patio.

The company were really good re sending samples. The colours will look different in the actual room.

There’s no need for specialist cleaners - I use a steam mop and water. It is just a ceramic tile and is quite robust. If you can find someone who will use a resin grout, the grout will maintain the colour - I didn’t and regret it.
