New Boiler + Newbie Hive Installation Gadget/Hub Placement?

Hi,

I'm clueless actually. I'm having a new boiler fitted with Hive Active Heating which comes with six months free of Hive Plus. I've had a look at my contract it states that "hive to be fitted ask customer for the location fit a filter under the boiler. Previously when I had boiler replacement as a tenant, it was just a swap with a wireless control(?) to turn on/off and programme schedule.

When it says hive to be fitted, what exactly is it? Is there a preferable location to have it installed? Can it be changed in future? Does it needs to be removed if I decided to cancel Hive. The pamphlet only mentions wireless and wired versions are available.

I thought it was just a thermostat from my little googling. Does it have to be static. I've no clue up to now about Hive apart from you can program remotely using app.

Thanks.

We have Hive. There is a receiver located by the boiler (and we have one upstairs too as our heating up and down works separately). We also have separate control devices which sit wherever we want them. They track what the actual temperature is and feed it back to the receiver to tell it to put the heating on. We don't have Hive plus. I'm not sure exactly what is is and what it ads.

Do you mean you have two thermostats, one for up and one for down? Or two completely separate heating systems.

I have nice copper radiator valves and don't want to change them to white plastic TRVs but am wondering whether it's possible to install a few separate thermostats instead?
