Where to buy living room furniture

I know this is an odd post, but I'm struggling with finding somewhere that I can buy new furniture. Tv unit, sideboard etc.

I've tried the minimal offerings on the high Street such as furniture Village. I don't see anything in ikea that I like. I am wary of online options like wayfair having heard many bad things about them.

Where have you all bought your furniture from please? I'd love items from the same range ideally, as I'm open plan.

Thanks!

I live in oak furniture land - not my first choice (husband) but it’s sturdy which is required in a small house with children.

Maisons du monde. I ordered a cabinet and it shipped from France assembled, I only had to add the legs. The best £10 postage I ever paid.

My best tip, is never to buy anything new, but still look in all the shops. I trawl all the high end places, note down anything I like and almost always find it on FTB marketplace or eBay if I wait a few weeks. I have alerts set up for all the high end furniture stores and check them daily. I’ve rarely paid full price for anything in my house and have some lovely furniture - two bedrooms fully furnished from Barker and Stonehouse, John Lewis sofas, Swoon dining table. My best finds were a G Plan coffee table for a fiver, a free Cotswold Company blanket box and barker and stonehouse sideboard for £100.

I like antiques. I’ve bought them from flea markets, eBay, online antique dealers and bijou little antique shops in quaint market towns on holiday. They have ranged from ridiculously cheap in price up to splurge level, but you can’t necessarily tell which were which! Each piece has character and a story behind it, and they are all SO much more robust than generic stuff.

Don't be afraid of mixing woods. I have wooden floors with a different wood for the tv cabinet, bookcase and a unit.
I'm my dining room I have wooden floor in one colour table in another and a tv unit different again. Wood is natural so it just matches 🤷🏼‍♀️
Sounds like it proof look shit bit it doesn't

Definitely always look for the outlet places. I always to a reverse image search and often find things loads cheaper direct from the manufacturer

@ThemedName - sorry if this is cheeky but how do you do a reverse image search? Would love to find a bargain and currently looking for a few pieces.

If you go to images.google.com/ and click on the camera icon you can upload an image to search.
