Small kitchen corner cupboard ideas needed!

I have inherited a badly designed kitchen and one of my biggest bugbears is that there is a corner cupboard with a 30cm door. The actual cupboard carcass is about 60cm x 80cm but because the door is so small, and most of the space is around the corner IYKWIM, it's pretty useless as storage. Can anyone think of a way I can actually utilise this space, rather than just using the small bit of it I can see and reach? If it was big enough I could have put a swing-out shelf thing in there but I'm pretty sure they don't come that small. I'm a bit stuck for ideas!

Can you draw a plan with measurements so we know which way round everything is? Doesn’t have to be to scale! Just the shape & the numbers & which way the opening/door goes.

What’s it round the corner of? I mean what is in front of the bit of the cupboard that has no opening & is there a way of changing that?

Thanks! Is this any good?

Wow!
I hate to say it but you would be better to take out the 50cm unit & the wasted space one and put a proper corner base unit in that space. Either that or you would have to pay £££‘S for a set up like this

We have the exact same set up with cooker, corner unit & sink in those spaces.

Corner cupboards are always a pain but we do at least manage to get into ours with a carousel unit. Prior to that it was shelves with a bifold door, we could get more in than actually. I slightly regret the carousel set up.

If you could find a smaller one of these it would be perfect but I can’t find one. I will keep looking!

Yes, I wondered if there's a tiny pull-out thing, but have looked everywhere! Not sure how I'd replace the units much as I'd like to, it's all joined together because of the work surface. Thanks for looking! Smile

Smallest I can find is for 380mm.

The thing is, if you narrowed the storage pullout so it can get out of the door, you actually lose half the storage of you cupboard anyway. Looking for something that pulls out of the door will only half fill your 60 cm width cupboard!
You might be better off just getting baskets/making boxes you can put castors on so you can slide the contents towards you. It means the stuff at the front would also need to be in something as you’d have to lift it out to slide the back stuff forward to reach. Can’t think of any other solutions tbh.
This kind of thing? -but with better sizing. Either that or pay for bespoke storage I suppose. Good luck!

Ah thanks for trying! Yep, think I need to create some kind of bespoke thing, like you I was thinking I need a lift/slide combo! Will mull it over!

Put in an "L" shaped cupboard.

Two doors, opening in the middle, with extra-wide opening hinges.

The one in this link is hinged at one side.

It is quite tricky getting the door size and cabinet width right.

PigletJohn · 13/10/2021 02:41

Now I see it is a base unit (not wall)

an "L" shaped unit would not fit, but you could remove both the awkward one, and the 500mm unit next to the hob, and put in a 1000mm base unit with a Le Mans swing-out.

This would leave you about 300mm next to the sink, where you could put a bottle rack, pull-out cleaners rack, or hang towels or store trays.

Or bin.

Hafele do one where the door can be attached to the front.

NotMeNoNo · 13/10/2021 11:35

Agree, change it for a straight corner going the other way, plus 30cm pull out, or a 90x90 L shape unit and a 20cm bottle storage pull out.
If you get a couple of flatpack units, it might be possible to dismantle the existing ones from under the worktop and build the new configuration in place, without pulling the worktop out.
