Uggghhh buyer has pulled out

Just a rant and to see if anyone else in a similar position wants to moan...

We have a 1 year old and are in a 1 bed city flat. Tried to move before covid but covid scuppered that due to unemployment. Finally found a buyer last year and had an offer secured but the place we were buying couldn’t find a house to move to. Now our buyer has pulled out because we are taking too long (we said we’d move to a rental but it didn’t change his mind)

So stuck in a one bed which I doubt will sell, going slowly but surely mad. Help! Anyone have any experience of bringing up a toddler in a one bed flat?!

That sucks. How old is your toddler? We moved from a one bed when our first was 10 months old but know lots of people in a one bed with older kids. If you can make the living room your bedroom and have your child in their own room that can be a good option? Depending on what kind of space you have.

Also worth considering renting some storage space as the stuff is as much of a challenge as the people I think.

Our baby was in the bathroom until she was 2! (Covid chaos too.) We had a separate loo and it was a big one bed, but still. TBH, it never bothered her and we managed to escape just before she realised it was weird. But honestly... Fuck the pandemic. They don't play in their bedrooms until well past two, in my experience (or are just as happy playing in the lounge or your bedroom if that's what works for you.)

Ha! Thanks. That makes me feel better. He’s been sleeping in the hallway! Quite behind on walking or climbing out of his cot, which has been a blessing in disguise. Did your DD clamber out into the bathroom at night?

Sorry - haven't logged on for a bit. No, she never escaped (kept her in sleeping bags - haha). I remember thinking I would have to move a few things if she did find her way out (although she was thoroughly on the move by then, so dangerous things were mostly out of reach.)
