Not sure whether anyone has posted this link before, but I feel claustrophobic just looking at the pictures ...

How is that legal? Is there any means of escape from the lower floor apart from up the stairs? It doesn't look like it.

BordelDeMerde · 07/10/2021 12:07

I don't get it. From the outside, there appears to be several actual windows. Have they bricked them up or something?

BordelDeMerde · 07/10/2021 12:11

Photo 16 has one of the windows in it, but I can't work out what they've done to it (on my phone and photos are tiny).

BIoodyStupidJohnson · 07/10/2021 12:13

Glass doors to the bedrooms?

"These are sex people Lynn!"

chesirecat99 · 07/10/2021 12:15

It's one house in a terrace so only 2 windows belong to the house that is for sale - one in the lounge next to the front door and one in the shower room. The lower floor is below ground.

NotDavidTennant · 07/10/2021 12:18

The outsde view shows about 6 or 7 diffferent properties (there's a separate front door betwen each window). It looks like each property has just one window plus a skylight.

Oh that makes sense, thank you!

Right at a the bottom of the description it says 'please note the pictures and floor plan are from the property next door, not this property' so what's the point of that? What if next door looks totally different inside? Why wouldn't you take pictures of the property you're actually selling?

AndStand · 07/10/2021 12:40

It says in the description that the photos are of next door!

linerforlife · 07/10/2021 12:42

This is near me! Beautiful building and a lovely spot to live, right on a beautiful prom along a cliff looking down at the sea.

Pokhora · 07/10/2021 13:17

If there are only two windows why design the interior so one is in the shower room and then cover the other so you can't see out?

merryhouse · 07/10/2021 13:18

It's a unique property - but the pictures are of next door...

Pokhora · 07/10/2021 13:19

Maybe they are all being renovated and the one for sale is not yet finished?
Rollercoaster1920 · 07/10/2021 14:28

That kitchen-diner is depressing. There is a development near me with underground living part of it's 'charm'. pressure to squeeze as many units in as possible doesn't end well.

BruceAndNosh · 07/10/2021 14:40

It gives the impression of being a conversion of a Victorian public toilet block.

I also thought a bedroom had to have an egress window to be legal

wonkylegs · 07/10/2021 14:53

The requirement for a window is a myth, there are other ways to meet the escape and ventilation requirements however most people prefer one.

The glass walls appear to have blinds so privacy is available however I would expect that it's not great for sound transmission

There seems to be light tunnels & roof lights and so there is natural light even if it's not explicit windows.

It's a conversion of an old boiler house

NeedAHoliday2021 · 07/10/2021 14:55

Amazing location!

starpatch · 07/10/2021 20:32

The grand changed hands recently, it was sold very cheaply as it needs loads of work. I imagine this may have been a holiday suite attached to it which is now being sold of seperately.

PigletJohn · 07/10/2021 23:01

it appears to have only two thick walls in a "L" shape in the underground room, so it might be a conversion of a quarter of some larger construction.

Peanutsandchilli · 08/10/2021 16:22

'This property also brings unique features that can only be seen in a handful of properties'. What, like bricks where there should be glass and glass where there should be bricks?

How utterly depressing. I don't even think the location makes up for it.

Lostmarbles2021 · 08/10/2021 23:27

Sea levels set to rise significantly...Basement that close to the sea? No thanks.

Fizbosshoes · 08/10/2021 23:32

It makes me feel really claustrophobic like the time we had s below deck cabin on a ferry!

Ellmau · 09/10/2021 18:15

It is quite high up.

Fabulous location, but those glass walls are ghastly. Also I note it's leasehold.

Is it this development?

Yes, I think it is. Some of the comments attached to the application are interesting :)

shedofdread · 09/10/2021 20:06

It reminds me of an old toilet block.
