What size/layout for limestone look floor tiles

I am ordering limestone look porcelain tiles. They are available as random mix packs of 5 sizes from 33cm x 33cm to 1m x 50cm or I could just have large 1m x 50cm or any other. Large would give less grout lines to keep clean but I quite like the look of "random". It is for an 8m long kitchen but needs to be able to continue through doorway into utility. Any thoughts as I have totally overthought it.

Anyone used similar? Thank you

We went for limestone effect porcelain tiles (from Wickes- Como I think they were called). They're lovely and everyone comments on them. I preferred not to have the random pattern but my sister has it and hers is lovely too. We went for a brick pattern rather than stacked. Have you seen the ones you were considering in real life?

We are just about the lay the same in a 9m long kitchen and decided on the multi-sized 'random' pattern. My DH really wanted the larger regular look but we looked at loads of photos online and in the end decided we liked the random ones.

Afraid I won't know how it turns out for another month!

I'd love a pic!

Trying hard to find the funds for a limestone I've seen and fallen in love with but just can't do it at £99 sq metre Sad

Thank you. I have seen pictures of both designs online but the grout lines dont show up well so it is very hard to tell which looks better. I have only seen a sample board with a few tiles not a whole floor laid with the tiles.

BlackAlys- I wanted real limestone but discounted it for practicality as even if well sealed it is bleached by lemon juice etc so i couldnt risk it as my kids cook and are not careful enough.

I have 60cm by 60cm tiles. Is that an option? It looks spectacular from the hallway, living room, to the kitchen-living-diner.

Yes we also went for limestone effect porceline tiles in kitchen/ pantry/ utility (seamlessly passes through two door thresholds) albeit two of those rooms are basically cupboards.

I much prefer the mix sizes, yes they are harder to lay with more grout but such a nice finish :)

@chimneyextractor - I have some limestone effect tiles - well I think they are made of some volcanic thing. I went for the biggest because made the kitchen look bigger and so less grout but I do have to say the random effect is very pretty.

The one thing ( from experience ) I would say is never ever have actual limestone on the floor unless you are in for yearly ( expensive ) maintenance - did it once in a bathroom and had them taken out and replaced with porcelain tiles ( Feel free to disagree - but to me , this was an expensive mistake )

Real limestone needs sealing (as does grout on the floor, especially if its a light colour). We bought a bottle of sealant and painted it on with a small paint brush over thr grout, so glad we did as my daughter knocked my glass of red wine over the floor a few days later and it cleaned up leaving no mark on the grout- phew! Buy it from any tile place, in a bootle or spray can.

Thank you Looking optimistic - lovely.

Yes I have ruled out real limestone after seeing friends continually stressing about kids with juice on their floor despite being sealed.

Basilisk -do you have a photo of yours.

Anyone else got comments on layout/size

J@chimneyextractor just measured my tiles and they are approx 120 by 60 - not good with photos but I will try to get you one - mine may look a little more modern than you would like - but they are a stone composite ( as I say made out of volcanic stuff - possible slightly paler than you would like but the the company does different colours - give me a short while & I will see if I can get a photograph.

So this will not be everyone's choice but hope you can see tiles

thanks Basilisk but the photo has not worked. I was considering 1m x 50cm so similar size and fairly light.

Don't suppose you could
Recommend a company? I've fallen in love with limestone that I cannot afford and am desperately looking for something similar with a smaller price tag
