What order would you do this work in?

I’m hideously unpractical and we want to do quite a bit of decorating work in our house…..does this sound like a reasonable order of things? House is 4 bed, downstairs is a hall, open plan living/dining then kitchen at back.

Replace all internal doors
Skirting in downstairs hall/stairs/upstairs hall all to be replaced - lift carpet first to allow this to be done
Lift living room carpet
Paint hall and wallpaper living room
Decorate spare room
Lay carpets in living room, stair and hall
New sofas

Also seriously considering a new kitchen, will I regret making the rest of downstairs look good to then have that upheaval/mess?

The thought of organising all these trades is making my head hurt already, so any glaring WTFs in the list above appreciated! Have been saving to get all this done so want to do it right.

Sounds practical to me.

Will the new kitchen upheaval mess up your new carpets if you have it done at a later date?

Definitely do carpets last.

Are you changing lighting eg from ceiling rose or strip light to down lights , as ought to be done before decorating. Also if you need more electrical sockets put in do them before decorating.
If just changing the lamp shade do that last.

If you have the doors hung on lift-off hinges it will be no trouble to move them.

Is it all to be carpeted? If you have any hard flooring, say in hallway, it needs to go down before skirting.
Depending where you live can be hard to get joiner for small jobs so if you were having a kitchen fitted, might make sense to get skirting and doors quoted at the same time as will be more appealing job.
Is it a new or old house? Our skirting in on plastered brick and it makes a right mess coming off. Less of an issue on plasterboard
