So... Between the kick board what do people have to stop the dirt build up there please?

Vacuum / sweep and mop regularly? I guess you could seal with silicone sealant but might make it difficult to remove the kick board if you need to.

Do you mean the plinth beneath kitchen units?
It's supposed to be removable, it just clicks into place on the legs of the kitchen units, so bear that in mind if you seal it.
More expense to match and replace if it has to be removed to fix a leak

if you mean the kitchen cabinet plinth, it is generally fixed to the unit legs with springy plastic clips and can be pulled off for occasional cleaning.

You can get a plastic strip to go on the bottom edge of the plinth, it will prevent crumbs and spills getting underneath and also prevents the plinths being damaged by water absorbtion when you wet-mop the kitchen floor.

It comes in white, black, and colours, but the translucent one will not be noticable. Long lengths are preferable but not often sold mail-order.

Brilliant thank you. Our current kitchen is so old and awful our kick boards have never sat in place properly and been offered mostly due to disintegration.

You can fit new plinth if you want, it is only laminated chipboard in standard size.

You can overlap it into corners if you don't saw neatly.

Thank you @PigletJohn
What a Star you are on these boards. A true mn treasure 💐.

I'm leaving the old ones for now as it's all going but I never had the confidence to do anything with them! When I see how the new ones clip in and out I'll know more about what to do if they come off and break

Ask the fitters to leave a few mm extra space under the units so the strip can be added
