Fine mud cracks in paint

Just painted and I can see some places developed fine cracks like dried up mud. I know what's caused it - the coat of paint was too thick. The question is, how do I fix it??? Some websites say to sand it down once dry and repaint it (really don't wantto do that!), others that I can just paint over with thinned down paint (what do I thin it down with???)

Anyone had this and how did you fix it???

Depends on the paint. DM often thins her emulsion paint with a bit of water as it’s a water based paint. I would try just thinning a small bit and patch testing though, it might be that sanding and repainting are the best option. Good luck!

Is it on a wall?

Had the wall previously been papered., or treated with glue?

How did you clean and prepare it?

Yes, it's a wall. It's just painted plaster, I've washed it with sugarsoap. It's definitely just too thick coat, as it's most prominent in places where I went with a brush to cut in and ten with paint loaded roller on top... 🤦🏻‍♀️

Actually sanding lightly and painting over doesn't sound that bad, I think I was just exhausted yesterday...

Not in a kitchen?
