Comfy compact sofa

We had our heart set on a really comfy squidgy corner sofa in our new house but having measured up it just isn't going to work so we're thinking of a 2 seater and 3 seater instead. We want something quite modern looking but still comfy and the space for the 2 seater is only 220cm so it needs to be quite compact.
So many sofa companies now don't actually have showrooms to go and sit on the sofas so I wondered if anyone has any recommendations.
I like a few of the designs on made.com but I'm not a fan of loaf (they all look really low and don't want velvet).

Ok maybe this is not what you are looking for but I was quite impressed by the IKEA 2 seater with the sort of bay at the end...it opens up like a bed (so you can get v comfy watching a movie and this is not limited only to the person sitting in the bay) and has some storage. A friend of mine bought it twice (her twin boys were raised on it)

Seconding PP - we have the IKEA stocksund two seater for our previously tiny living space and it was just the best buy ever, comfy and washable covers.

Do you know which model that is @Possiblynotever? I'm not anti IKEA at all - we really like the Kivik range but they seem to have been out of stock for about a year.

We have the John Lewis Gplan 65 (in velvet, but they do it in other fabrics I think) and it's very comfortable and has worn well so far. The seat cushions aren't super squashy, which I prefer, but the back cushions are very squashy which is great. I would try and sit on one though before buying! John Lewis and M&S are the places we looked (like Made.com and Loaf but nowhere to try them).

Hi OP, it's called the Friheten and it's got mixed reviews on the site. Plus, the pictures make it look rather stiff...but my friend is truly happy with it and I also think that it is washable and you can change the cover. She had one in dark grey and the second in beige....I prefer the grey...maybe go to an IKEA and try it?

The IKEA stocksund was pretty much the only sofa we could contemplate because it was small enough, and it's pretty comfy, we've had them nearly a year.

We've had a Stocksund for 5 years. It's comfy but 5 years on the springs are starting to give and we're looking to replace with something a bit longer lasting. I don't regret the purchase though - we went with IKEA because the kids were little and we didn't want to fret about wear.

Collins and Hayes have small/medium/large sofas. I have the Heath in small and medium. Foam seat cushions and feather back cushions so very comfy. Washable loose covers if you pick the Colour Collection. 300+ shades! Nice peachy cotton mix.

I have the Habitat Ghost recliner which is great. Compact, but also a recliner which makes it super comfy

Habitat now Argos which is a bit off putting as Argos quality not always great but it all seems ok so far!

I've looked at a few in habitat but slightly dubious because of the Argos thing...good to hear you've been pleased.
IKEA seem to have nothing at all in stock. We're looking at a Swoon sofa via John Lewis at the moment - the company don't get great reviews but hoping that through JL it's a bit more secure
