How many people changed the locks when they moved into a new place? My friend said they changed theirs but it didn't cross my mind until they said.

always - the first thing I do in fact - you have no idea who has keys to your house otherwise

Always change the locks, have no guarantee that every copy of keys has been given to you /ea and don't want strangers having a key to my house. I thought it was standard practice tbh.

I haven't but my son did when he bought an ex rental as you have no idea who or how many had keys cut...

@reenon

How many people change the loo seat?
We changed both loo seats to "family seats" as we had one small DS and one potty training DD at the time. We kept the elegant black loo seat from the upstairs loo and I think the plan was to put it back at some point (but DD still has quite a small bottom!) I wouldn't change it just for hygiene. After all you don't change the loo seat in public loos.

Our house was a rental for short term lets over many years. DH and I changed the locks ourselves before we even unpacked a thing.
Changed to anti snap, high security locks on all doors.
