My DH is an arsehole. I’ve literally been packing the house up for weeks. I went to work last night and he asked if he could do anything to help whilst I was away…. Ok I said, clear the grocery cupboard ( also has drinks in it)
Thought he couldn’t really go wrong but the ONE box he previously packed was over-full therefore had a big lump in it and no longer stackable. So I came home this morning to find yet another box with a big lump in it, I’ve opened it to find this.
I’m close to tears.

Aaaargh!!! I could literally scream!!!

@Bonitalazenia no, not at all, that's why I did it! He did all the cooking, cleaning and childcare for a few weeks while I cracked on. Everyone was happy. 😂

@Bonitalazenia

At this moment I actually hate him! I’m so stressed with everything, I’ve arranged the movers, no easy feat with completion on 30th. Contacted all utilities etc. The SKY is in his name so asked him to contact them. Off he goes with his phone… no account number, no new address postcode, no pen…. Aaaargh I need to calm down or else I’m gonna have a fucking stroke
Let me help you out by taking some of that booze off your hands. You're welcome.
Orangecrisp · 25/09/2021 17:09

I feel your pain OP. When we last moved, despite us both having lived in the house for 3 years and DH having wayyy more stuff than me that is expensive for his ‘hobbies’ that I can’t touch, because it was just me in the deeds he neglected to organise a single thing for the move. I took a week off work to finish packing, organised removals, bought boxes etc. He didn’t even think about organising his piles and piles of crap until the day before completion! It doesn’t get any better as we’ve been in our new house for almost a year now and he still piles of unpacked boxes in the garage Angry he is lucky he has other redeeming qualities

AvantGardening · 25/09/2021 18:09

Open box. Dump his clothes in. Chuck his booze on top. Ensure the tops are slightly open and something sticky is in there.

Don’t be the one to sort it at the other end

mobear · 25/09/2021 23:15

Hmm, I just showed my DP and he said "What is wrong with that?". Worrying. You have my sympathy OP.

dotdotdotdash · 25/09/2021 23:52

I hope you are moving to a different house from him

Bonitalazenia · 26/09/2021 04:19

@gettingolderbutcooler haha Im gonna need a lot of that booze on Thursday night when we move!

When we moved, we solved this issue by me doing absolutely all the packing, and OH doing everything else

Me too Grin

Has worked a dream!

Plus I have morning sickness so its a good excuse.

LemonSwan · 26/09/2021 16:22

Oh sorry the other way around! DP is doing all the packing, I am doing the important things.

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 26/09/2021 16:35

This is why I'm single OP. I just can't do this anymore.

TheGrumpyGoat · 26/09/2021 16:40

Last time we moved I took the kids away for the week before we moved and left DH to it. The kids were 3 and 2 at the time. We came home the day of the move when all the stuff was in the new house ready to unpack. I highly recommend it as a strategy Grin

gluenotsoup · 26/09/2021 16:53

Drink some of that gin OP, less to pack. Don’t give any to dh though and make him repack the rest after he’s run you a bath👍

xksismybestletter · 26/09/2021 16:55

I actually can't see what is wrong with it either?

But overall, I hear you.
