Hmm this has me intrigued - its not too far from me so I shall make a point of cycling past to have a look at some point

Being slightly sad I looked up the planning details on Waltham Forest council website - it seems that one of the houses has in the past had an app in to convert into flats which was refused, theres no application (as far as I can see) to merge the two houses. I guess an application may not be required as it would be regarded as internal works? I would have thought they would need permission for the log cabin or to remove the front garden though? Not worth 2 million

Family on my street have done this. Not a big family. Mum, Dad and 2 kids (now early 20's and mid teens but they have lived in the house all their lives).
Bought the house next door to them. The houses are standard 60's 3 bed semi detached houses with doors and hallways on the outside walls and party walls shared for living room, dining room, and the 2 double bedrooms.
They only use 1 of the front doors, but haven't fully joined the houses up. They have put doors between the dining rooms at the back and the 2nd bedrooms at the back.
Didn't want to pry too much so don't know about the small galley kitchens if 1 has been knocked through into the dining room, but I find the idea of the door in the 2nd bedrooms weird as that would be 1 of the kids bedrooms (3rd bedrooms are box rooms).

Interesting. The house(s) has (have) great bones but some very strange choices made and that garden! Would be fab project to properly turn it into a large family home. I have certainly fantasised about buying next door and knocking through (while knowing buying a larger house would be cheaper than doing that).

Looks fine to me

The layout is unusual and the decor not to my taste, but is isn't exceptionally weird. The thing that sticks out for me though is £2 million and they couldn't chuck a bit of week killer down on the drive for the photos?
