Farrow and ball primer

A few questions in one if that's ok! 2 months ago I had some damp proof work and replastering done. The plaster is now dry and I'm having it painted next week. There are quite a few cracks in it as it's an old building with walls that aren't great so they'll need to be filled first.

Re. primer - I know to buy the F&B primer to use underneath the paint but I've seen some people saying you don't need a primer on freshly plastered walls... just a mist coat... is that the case even if there are cracks being filled? Or am I safer using the primer?

If I do use the primer should that then be the mist coat? Presumably so?

The damp proof company said to avoid vinyl based paints on the wall. If we go with a F&B primer underneath is that vinyl? I have no clue and have googled but to no avail!

And finally.... the living room is being decorated in a different brand of paint (Curator). Am I ok to use the F&B primer for that too rather than buy a different brand for that room?

I would really appreciate any advice - thank you!
