Could this toilet leak be the o ring or something else?

I noticed the grout and surface of the tiles were damp around my ground floor toilet. At first I thought it must be the o ring, but then I realised that my toilet discharges out of the back rather than into the ground... I'm now worried it could be something more serious. Could it still be a toilet leak or is it more likely to be some sort of underground water seepage? I can't get anyone out to look at it for a few days and am really worried, as I can't afford anything major. The toilet exterior itself feels completely dry, it hasn't run down from anywhere. Really appreciate any advice.

You need @PigletJohn

might be from the cistern.

please post photos of

inside the cistern, with the lid off, showing the water level, and how near it is to the line marked "water level" on the back wall, and the fixing screw holes

the overflow pipe coming out of the cistern

the water supply pipe going into the cistern

(these two pipes might be in the side3 or the bottom of the cistern)

the shelf at the back of the pan that the cistern sits on (or, in some cases, the pipe entering the back of the pan)

the soil pipe coming out of the pan, and the connectors it goes into

If you wrap kitchen roll round each of these, you will find that the one wrapped round a leaky joint gets wet.

there is a faint chance of a crack in the porcelain, but this is uncommon.

btw, do you have a powerful and effective bathroom extractor, preventing condensation forming on the cold cistern when you have steamy showers?

Thanks so much for the replies - unfortunately I keep getting an error message when I try to upload photos which is annoying.

That toilet hasn't been used for a couple of days now and the floor is completely dry. The dampness seems to appear shortly after flushing. Will avoid using it for now, luckily we have another toilet we can use.

It's a cloakroom so I'm sure there are no condensation issues.
