Removing archived photos from Zoopla

Is this possible? We asked our estate agent to remove the pics from the listing when the house was sold but Zoopla is still showing them.

Has anyone else had this issue and resolved it with Zoopla?

Following out of interest, I asked the EA and they said it was out of their control?

namechange7865 · 03/09/2021 15:49

And yet I see plenty of others dont show after

NoEyeDeers · 03/09/2021 15:51

The EA removed mine when I asked so they can do it.

ask zoopla directly - they have a form for this

Oh fantastic! Thank you.

I contacted Zoopla via their contact form to ask this a few months ago and they quickly removed the old listings on our property. I didn't want any random being able to see the floor plan and photos etc. Seems like a security risk.

Thankfully our Rightmove sales listing has our sold price (no floor plan/photos) under an old house name that we don't use, so we didn't have a problem with that

Jarstastic · 03/09/2021 22:19

I also asked estate agents who said can't be done. I wanted an old listing removed because of photos and also not a record of price cut.

However, I emailed Rightmove and Zoopla directly and they both remove within a few days. I was impressed.

TheWholeWorld · 03/09/2021 23:05

Thanks @parietal - the Zoopla listing went within an hour. I've just seen the same pics in On The Market so I've sent a general enquiry and we'll see what they come back with.

Zoopla and Rightmove take them off straight away if you make a request. The Move Market, however, just ignore all such requests - I've been trying to get ours taken off for over 2 years. If anyone has had success with them please let me know how!

BlueMongoose · 04/09/2021 10:24

I think it's fun to look at how awful this house was when we bought it.....it gives me a marker on how far we've come if I get depressed about it.
Also, if you want to sell later on, if the pics are still up you can demonstrate how much you have done to a house (thereby justifying a rise in value). We've spent tens of thousands on ours already, but without the photos online and therefore 'official' a buyer could just say (as they very often do on here) 'why has this house gone up so much in such a short time, am I being shafted?'.
There are upsides to having photos up.

m0therofdragons · 04/09/2021 10:26

@BlueMongoose this is exactly what I do. Our house barely resembles those pictures now Grin

DarkDarkNight · 04/09/2021 19:45

Oh I love looking at those they’re so useful. I’m currently in the middle of purchasing a house and photos from the last two sales are on there, I also look at other houses on the street to see how they’ve arranged furniture and better layouts for kitchens and bathrooms.

Starseeking · 04/09/2021 23:51

I agree with you @BlueMongoose and @m0therofdragons.

I sold my house earlier this year for circa £90k what I bought it for 4 years ago, which on the face of it was a 24% increase. Unless you actually SEE the before pictures, you don't know that the vendors we purchased from had lived in the house over 30 years, and had done very little work in that time. EVERYTHING needed doing, but couldn't stretch to kitchen so lived with it, and polished up for sale. The original listing makes me laugh, avocado suite PLUS carpet in the bathroom!

@Jarstastic @Thecazelets hi both, hope you are well. Did you have to prove that you owned the property to have the listing removed? I saw on rightmove it says you need to prove you have a connection with the property. I don't feel comfortable sending the completion paperwork as that's rather personal. May I ask how you both proved your connection to the property? Thank you very much.

I just sent them a message referring to the listing I wanted removed and stated that I owned the property. I don't recall them coming back to me, but the listing was removed within days. Though I had owned the property for many years so would be easy for them to cross check against records like Land Registry.

Have you had any success yet?
I never gave themovemarket.com permission to use my photos. Their website says you have to upload a utility bills and give them your personal details in order for them to verify who you are. This feels wrong, would anyone know if it is in breach of GDPR somehow?

Rosebuud · 18/06/2022 19:13

On the market will also remove, but you need to remove the root cause. So I hunted mine down. So zoopla, the estate agent, on the market etc and asked for it to be removed for security reasons, they all did it quickly. Historic England has an image on line as it’s listed, but They won’t remove it, but it’s just a front view. So it’s ok

Rainbowshit · 18/06/2022 19:32

I also love looking at the previous listings. Why do you want to have them removed?

Not in breach as they have a legitimate interest in knowing that data about you.
