Too many joins in the work tops

Is this too many joins in the work top? Is there any way around it?

We have a kitchen that angles in for the last 1.8m so the back wall isn't a straight edge.

I did want quartz but have gone for wood as we are using DIY kitchens and that would be easier to trim ourselves.

I think it's fine, but I would ask a professional kitchen fitter to do the joins and fit the worktops. They have specialist tools which can make joins look seamless.

I don't think joins will be a problem but I would urge you to think again about wood worktops. They need a lot of maintenance and can look crap quite quickly

If you want quartz, why not price it up separately from a local firm. They will come in and template it once the kitchen is fitted, then bring the cut worktops in and fit them.

Thanks may try that.

DIY kitchens do quartz worktops and it's very reasonable. All laser measured for a perfect fit.

Definitely google quartz worktop joins and look at some in showrooms. I think they are very obvious especially considering the price of the worktop!

Look at Tristone, Corian and Silestone - all are templated onsite and made to order without joins.

We are looking at mirostone for our worktops as we have similar issues with joins. Seems that the joins polish out and become invisible.

We have an oak wooden worktop and the only maintenance we do is the apply Danish Oil once a year.

However we don't use it as a chopping board or as a workbench for motorcycle engines so maybe that why it stays looking good? Grin
