Engineered wood flooring - pros and cons?

Hi, can anyone help me with the pros and cons of engineered wood flooring?

Also one question I've got is does it click or creak when walked on? It will be installed on top of concrete. Looking for something that would be as ' solid' feeling as glued down Karndean / Amtico, but the look of wood would be lovely

I used Kahrs flooring in my old house. Lovely stuff, European oak. It never creaked and felt very solid.Although if it’s badly laid, it will. Nice thick layer of oak on top which could be sanded if necessary-although we never needed to and we had a big dog with long claws. Warm underfoot.I had the Verona brushed matt lacquer which gave the look of oiled but without the maintenance. 20 year guarantee-it was quite pricey but compared to a good quality carpet would be much cheaper over time. We’ve moved now and the wooden floor in our new house is fine but badly laid so it creaks. It’s also solid wood so more temperamental than engineered.

Fair enough that badly laid solid wood is a problem, and I suppose it's slower to lay properly than engineered, but having had both, and even laid both, in previous houses, it's solid stuff we're putting down in this house.
We had engineered in a conservatory so we could have underfloor heating. It was fine, and worked well with the heating, I( liked it, but the options were more limited (to plank, & not parquet).
