Best place for good quality bath?

Our bathtub is larger than standard sized baths and so it is easier to order online rather than traipsing round lots of different shops. I haven't had an acrylic bath before, and would prefer a steel one, but have a feeling we will have to have acrylic. So, are there any tips or shops that have better quality or am I hugely overthinking this whole thing? I'm worried I will end up with a tub that bends and flexes and is hard to clean. We have very hard water and teens that like bath bombs with high colour pigments!

I think you should go to a showroom and sit in the baths/take their advice

This is what i did & have decided on a re-inforced acrylic bath

Shops will be able to give you 20-25% discount (ie competitive with online) & be able to advise on availablity. I can see online prices might seem attractive at first, but I really wanted to see what I was getting

PS - the shops may not have all models in store, but will know who does the size you want, can show you similar etc etc

I am very pleased with the Carronite baths, which are reinforced (and rather heavy). They do a considerable range of sizes and odd lengths.

Trojan make similar baths.

Thanks for the tips, looks like we will have to delay the job until we can get out and look at some baths!

We've got a Burlington bath our bathroom fitter recommended then as well made and robust enough for a toddler, it's the first acrylic one we've had but it's lovely and deep and holds the heat well

I went for a Windsor Meridian: similar to carronite but cheaper. Available on a good range of sizes & not insanely expensive (about 300-400 £ I think). I like the shape: slopey bit at foot end to support legs/stop you sliding down
