In-frame shaker kitchen alternatives

Finally ready to make some decisions on a new kitchen. Was always keen on the painted HMKOC kitchens, have had a (sale price) quote and it’s just about in budget. But the estimated lead time means waiting until March. I don’t think I can wait that long 😫 was hoping for November..

Can anyone recommend a company that does a similar shaker offer (unpainted or painted) at a similar price point? We are in Hertfordshire

DIY kitchens do, the Helmsley is one in frame they offer but there are a few.

Yes - I do like the Helmsley and it is a possibility, but I’m not sure it’s directly comparable to HMKOC if I’m looking for closer to handmade/bespoke

I assume you have shopped around the handmade bespoke companies around you? I managed to find a local guy willing to build whatever I wanted in whatever material I wanted for 10k less than DIY Kitchens and 5k less than HMKOC.

@Ozanj we haven’t shopped around but this is an option. What has put me off is that we went this route with a company recommended by our builder for the last kitchen that we bought (about 8 years ago. Different house) and we didn’t get quite the finish that we’d hoped for. Not to say that a different company would be a different experience, but I’m wary. Sounds like you’ve had a positive experience though?

If you’re close to Hemel look into Cloisters. They were recommended to me and I’ve just met for an initial consultation. Very impressed.

Thank you @Ellesbelles16. I’m very close so will check them out.

I’ve also been looking at Yew Tree designs’ website. Seem to operate on a similar basis to HMKOC with transparent pricing etc

You could look for a local 1909 kitchens retailer?

Yes it was really positive.

There's British Standard and Alfie & George who offer a similar service to HMKOC. I think A&G is comparative price wise but BS is pricier. No idea on lead times.
