Porcelain tiles floor in the kitchen - what to use to reach top shelves?

We are having porcelain tiles laid on the kitchen floor and tall cabinets (up to ceiling) installed on walls.
I am quite short so my DP bought this stepstool www.argos.co.uk/product/7969065?clickSR=slp:term:abru%203%20step:1:18:1.
I liked to start with but then realised that it is quite heavy and if it falls on the tiled floor the tiles may develop crack. Argos photo shows that the stepstool is kept in the kitchen. But I think we will need to hid it in the storage as it is dangerous for our 2 year old DS.
I would appreciate if someone could recommend a safer/lighter alternative.
TIA

Depends on the height you need, I have a couple of these (a normal size one and a large one) www.dunelm.com/product/large-duck-egg-step-stool-1000152741 which are brilliant, just lift up to fold flat when not needed. Plastic so wont scratch and I haven't managed to break it yet!

DC is 4 ft 11 and scared of heights so she got pull down storage for the top shelves. That might work better

I would get a rolling step stool, like this:

Thank you Kizziebel, Ozanj and BridgetinHerBravery for your asnwers!
Howdens designer said that pull down storage is mainly for disabled people. The mechanism is probably quite expensive comparing to regular shelves.
