Wood Front Door London - Approx Cost

Does anyone know where I can get a reasonably priced supply/fit wooden front door (or excellent composite) for a 1900 Victorian 3 Bed Terrace in South London?

I got quoted 2.5k for a composite which I thought was extortionate.

Thanks

My wooden door cost £299, I need to prime and paint it, joiner has made a new mahogany frame (strongest wood ever) which I also need to prime and paint. Joiner will be fitting door, it's costing me £1000

We really struggled with this: quoted £2.5K for a Solidor but couldn’t see paste the pronounced “animal print” wood grain effect. We wanted wooden but got quotes ranging from £5.5K to 7.5K!! Insanity basically driven by greed and people quoting what they think you can afford.

In the end, we’ve bought a custom sized one online and are DIYing it, or rather the builder is. It cost about £1.5K from memory.

Look at Solidoor reviews online, I was tempered but spent the extra on a wood one. Much less likely to warp these days as all properly seasoned and the construction has bits going against itself - a bit like plywood. Also a multi point lock helps with holding shape too. Ours came From Elwyns in the end.

We live in a Victorian terrace in London and had to replace our front door recently. We were also horrified by the cost but decided to go for solid wood as all the houses round here which have been nicely renovated have them and it does look instantly better. It's very solid and thick and fits perfectly unlike our old door, so will be energy efficient I think. We used Natural Windows and paid I think about £5k.
