Reinstating/rebuilding a hallway wall in a Victorian terrace

Hoping that a knowledgeable person will have some advice for me!

We're frantically househunting and have finally found a house that looks promising which we're viewing tomorrow (Victorian terrace). But, it's had the wall between the hallway and the front living room removed. Most of the wall between the hallway and dining room has also gone so there's nothing much more left than a pillar in between the two rooms.

The staircase looks very odd - sort of just 'hanging' there in space, and I would want to at least reinstate the living room wall. It's probably about 10ft long; the dining room wall probably similar.

Has anyone ever done this, and if you have, any idea how much it might cost? It's in the South Midlands, which seems to be as expensive now as the SE where we currently live!

There are other issues in the house, but if I had an idea of the potential cost we could factor this into the offer (if of course we decide we like it!).

Thanks everyone.

I am not knowledgeable other than having paid to have quite a lot changed in old houses. If you are reinstating a wall that involves no support (support already there otherwise ceilings would cave in, then it can be fairly cheap. Then decorating, as much as you feel like. It doesn't sound particularly costly compared to many building jobs.

As long as the removal was done properly with building control and structural steelwork, you will be able to replace with stud walls which will be reasonably cheap and quick to do.
You could also consider adding in glazed panels like big Crital windows or sliding panels/pocket doors but those options would cost more.
