Removing built in wardrobe?

Are these easy to remove yourself, or are you better getting a trade in to it? I’m assuming it would be a joiner if so?

TIA

Just grab a hammer and a crowbar. Have fun :)

I’d be too worried at taking the plaster behind it with me!

They are easy to remove. Just take your time...and don't use a crowbar lol!
Take the doors off first. Then look inside and you can see the screws going into the walls. Just unscrew them. It's a two person job really.
Then when it's down, fill the holes.

We have someone do ours. Cost £100. Worth every penny IMO

Cheers, will try the softly softly approach. It’s really just reverse Lego…isn’t it? Grin

I'm getting our builders to take ours out. I'm expecting damage to walls and ceiling. Also we removed some fitted drawers when we moved in. They were same make as the wardrobes and they're really bloody heavy!! Our fixed quote was £260 to remove and dispose. They'll definitely be earning it, as I wouldn't/couldn't get the pieces downstairs myself

I removed mine on my own, bloody hard work! I was having the room re plastered anyway so i wasn't too bothered about the walls. I found loads of the previous owners junk behind it. Hmm

DH removed two lots here. About a day each- they were VERY well made and stubborn. Behind one lot there was only bare plasterboard, so we did get a plasterer in to skim that and match the coving and skirting (they were built in an alcove). The other lot were easier, as not in an alcove, both left boards showing where there was no carpet, and marks on the ceiling where the coving above them had been stuck.
It really depends on how handy you are, and whether any screws have rusted up. If they have, hello crowbar......though it can be fun.

We did ours ourselves. Half an hour with a crowbar and a hammer is very therapeutic 😁

I’m game for an attempt anyway! If I think it’s getting too much, I’ll draft in help.
