Property Buying Companies

Has anyone used one of those companies like We Buy Any House (or others) to sell quickly?

We lost our buyer and there's been no other interest, not even a cheeky low offer which we would have accepted. EA is trying to stay positive but all we keep getting is feedback that viewer liked house but wasn't quite what they were looking for. There's only so much we can take.

DH is talking to a property buying company who have offered a really low price but he wants to accept it & move on, stress-free.

I just don't know how trustworthy they are, or what else to do. Getting very stressed and worried. It's affected our mental health so badly this time, endless rows & misery.

Have suggested we try Auction but DH isn't keen.

What I meant was - we can take a lowish offer, use some savings & move before the area we want to go to is beyond our reach. We could just about use a property company now, take the hit if we absolutely had to but it's going to hurt a lot. Where we want to go (back to where DH is from) prices are going up sharply whereas they're not doing that here. It's a tough situation.

You know you'll take a hit selling to a property company. But you don't know that prices where you want to move to will continue to increase - they might, but they might not.

If you were buying your dream house and were going to lose it if you couldn't sell quickly, selling to a property company at below market value might be worth it. But it sounds like you haven't yet found the house you want to buy, so this step seems premature. Better to see if the price reduction generates any interest or instruct a different estate agent.

Consider taking a weekend away with DH to try and help reduce your stress levels.

We had found a house. Not a "dream house" - more a practical house that would work for all of us. It was a new build, DH put down a reservation deposit after we'd accepted the offer on our house. I know that was stupid, we've lost the deposit and that house is going to be remarketed at the end of this month. That's what has caused so much upset & stress. I didn't mention it before because I need to write this off in my mind. It hurts, have been crying every day because of the strain DH is putting me under.

I need to step back from it all, and take a break but that's not possible.Sad

@TheWindOnTheMoon will the company do part exchange or the "easy move" option many of them to where they pay your estate agent fees?

I think you need to get shot of the DH not the house...

All this stress for a house you don't really want😲

You are selling your house at a discount in pursuit of a new build (when there are ample opportunity for the exact same flipping house to come up again and agin). Absolute insanity if you don't mind me saying OP.

People on rightmove often search with listings set to 'Most Recent'

Remove your home from the market for a couple of weeks. Readvertise with a new estate agent with the lowest acceptable price and 'Offers over'

@TheWindOnTheMoon
I'm sorry to read your latest post , I wonder in this instance if it's worth contacting the developer as sometimes they part exchange or buy your house to move a sale forwards , worth asking although it's a long shot as the prices rising as the currently are mean they are probably able to sell the new build on easily
