The Ikea kitchen planner was my kitchen planner of preference but annoyingly I need a bigger screen to use after their 'upgrade' and my DP uses our big screen to work all day.

So, where do you go to plan your kitchen? I tried DIY Kitchens and it's ok but not great. I don't know if I'm missing something at Wren, but you don't seem to be able to put your own measurements in?!

Any recommendations?

I couldn't get my head round the ikea one. I used the diy kitchens one and found it worked really well. I liked the 3d view and the fact you could save different versions. The plan history function in case you needed to go back etc. What part weren't you so keen on? Sorry I never tried anything but these two.

I liked the DIY kitchens one best. I really didn't get on with the IKEA one. The DIY one is good for "standard" kitchen unit sizes, and also provides flexibility in the planning as they do such a wide range of unit widths, reduced depth units, various heights etc.

I just wish you could transfer the design into a basket on their website instead of being told it's in beta and that can't be done yet!

Interesting. I'm not sure why I don't like the DIY Kitchens planner, I've been using it but I don't enjoy it as much! I'll choose a kitchen only to find out the units I want aren't available in that range and then can't see how it looks in 3D so I have to work with a range I don't like. Faff.

I prefer the flat and 3D views that you get in the Ikea planner and there seems to be a better selection of different units, plus you can do a basic layout with the door/drawer combos you like etc, no need to choose a style. I tend to buy kitchens from Ikea, so that probably helps.

Thanks for the replies Smile

I love the old Ikea one, so flexible and like you @goldenshoes found it really useful to be able to manipulate it in different views and accessorise the space.

The new Ikea one isn't nearly as easy to use, it reminds me a bit of the DIY one in the rendering, but I totally agree about the limitations of the DIY planner in terms of which units are available with which kitchen, Aldo that you can't manipulate the units in 3D view. Although it does let you see your kitchen in F&B colours if you choose the bespoke colour ranges, which is helpful. I'm using the DIY planner to visualise the colours of the custom doors I'm planning to order for my Ikea kitchen. It's all a bit complicated!
