Band 1 urgent need to move

HI,
I am currently living in what can only be described as an unsafe housing association house and I have band 1 status on council bidding site and my landlord has said they are looking for a suitable place to move me in to.

Does anyone know how long a band 1 applicant would normally wait before they place a success bid and get offered a viewing.

I have been band 1 for 7 months. I am looking for a bungalow in a certain area closer to support so know this may make things happen a bit slower...but I have been 4th and the advert/property was withdrawn from website. I have been in top 5 but someone in band 2 got the place.

I'm told bungalows are rare BUT the council let on average one per month from May 2020 until May 2021 when I told them that didn't seem rare to me. And then they stopped appearing

so is 7 months a long time to wait for a move that doctors etc are pushing for ? and is it odd that I wasn't offered either of the properties i thought i may have a chance at being offered.

Thanks in advance for any replies or help anyone can give me.

It is a very difficult question to answer without knowing the supply and demand in your area. Have you got specific needs in a bunaglow? e.g wet floor shower, wheelchair mobility, - the property that went to a band 2 may have been because it didn't offer the adaptations required for those with a band 1. What is your band 1 priority for?

It also depends on how many others are in a band 1 - is it done in datal order within the band? Does medical priority sit above other reasons? It my area medical priority trumps other reasons (apart from those moving due to regeneration in an area) Also given the fact that you are already limiting your area of choice, means that chances are it will take a lot longer. Keep your area of choice as wide as possible.

I am not sure on the size of your area - but 1 bungalow a month really isn't that many, and also remember how bungalows generally become void.

Have you access to the re-housing policy? That should hopefully make some things clearer.

Hi my position on the properties keep changing for some I’m position 1 and others a much higher number like 200. Has anyone been through the same and know why this is?
