Refurbing upvc Windows

Hi, just wanting a few opinions on whether this is worth doing or not.

Windows are 16 years old and letting in a few draughts in winter/can hear some road noise through closed window. Also some are quite stiff or feel a bit out of alignment at the hinges, and a few handles are quite loose. The glazing units themselves are fine.

Is it possible to get a company to come out and replaces seals/handles/hinges? Has anyone had this done and found it worth it? Or should we just bite the bullet and replace all the windows like a few neighbours have already done? (Gulp)

Are the frames otherwise in good condition?

@QueenStromba Fairly. They're wrapped in oak effect and it is peeling a little at the corner of one or two windows but other than that ok.

I was just wondering if spending a few hundred now would buy us a few extra years before we really had to replace the windows entirely!

watching with interest!

@Panickingpavlova have you the same issue? I spoke to a guy in December and he said it would be approx £50 a window for hinges as it definitely wouldn't be the seals. But the seal came completely off one window the other day and it's flat as a pancake so does look like it could be replacedConfused

Just don't know if it a "thing" to do this to windows or if everyone just replaces them when they get like this?

I am not sure about the details op but I do know some companies can offer a refurb, for us its the seals etc.
