How much should I pay for a bathroom refurb

If I buy the suite and fittings from a cheapish supplier - around £700
If I keep most of my original tiles
If the bathroom is pretty small and I don't need anything moving around
I am hoping no more than £2000 for the fitting on top of the suite but am I being unrealistic? South east but not london!
Thanks

What are they doing then? Install loo bath shower? Can you get a day rate from a builder? Shame to spend little on the bathroom itself and then $$$ for the fitting.

Just to fit a small bathroom could be done in a couple of days couldn’t it? Is it new flooring? Wiring?

We're London and have just got two quotes for refurbing our bathroom, keeping the bath, but new vanity sink unit and loo. Retiling round bath, retiling floor and repainting. Both quotes around £4.5k, not including fittings.

Depends exactly what u want done. A small bathroom with toilet sink and bath with shower over it. Fully tiled floor and walls, I think that wld be tight budget in the south. Not much tiling you might be able to do it.

I'm in central Scotland I got quoted £1500 for fitting of just downstairs toilet and sink with small splash back tiling and tiny floor tiled, 2 spotlights no radiator as I already installed a new one. That was about 2/3 yrs ago. I didn't go ahead because I though it was a ridiculous price but got another one even higher. I'm going to get it done soon and i expect I'll need to fork out a similar price for the labour 🙄

Thanks
I will need a bathroom fitter I think but the flooring can stay too
I guess it might be more than £2k!

I think you will struggle to get it installed for £2k. Installation will be the same price whether it’s a 15k bathroom suite or a £1k. I have just had an extra shower installed, over the existing bath, small amount of tiling, shower screen. Cost over a £1000, done in a few hours. Waited ages though, as plumbers are busy, many didn’t turn up to quote, so get a few quotes OP. Good luck.

If you are just replacing like with like - not moving placement of drainage pipes etc then I think around £2k shouldn't be that far off the mark.

We have had 2 bathrooms and and en-suite fitted, plumbing costs have been around £4K each but that was included moving placement of sink & WC, sorting out old badly placed pipe work etc.

I would advise spending wisely on the new suite though - we have learned the hard way that cheap bathroom wares are cheap for a reason and don't last. Ask you plumber to recommend his preferred plumbers merchant and shop from there using his discount.

Thanks. That's helpful. I could probably go to £1k on a suite if fitting was £2k. Let's see.

I am having exactly this done - replacing the bath, basin and loo with like for like. Keeping wall tiles, and having floor retiled.

I'm using a very proficient handyman (as opposed to a qualified plumber), he's said it will take no more than 4 days and his day rate is £185 (northwest England though).

Maybe try the handyman route if you're not needing any pipe work moving etc.

Cor that's cheap! I doubt I could get anyone to do it for that round here but it's worth looking into as an option even if it was more expensive per day.
