Getting over the moving fear

Okay people on here have been really helpful to me so hope you can help me some more!

I'm having what I can only describe as 'the fear'. The chain is complete, but is it going to break? The solicitors are doing their thing, but what will come back from the searches? The survey is booked, but will it be a house horrors? My buyer has been very quiet, are they waiting patiently or just seething at how slow everything is going?

Help me put my mind at rest, think I'm just having a wobble. Everything is just quiet at the moment, no news is good news, right?

Just sending solidarity as I’m feeling the same, though slightly behind you in the process!

I went through this last year and also found it quite stressful. I tried to channel the energy into doing useful things.

Perfect way to describe that constant worry.
We worried about selling, found a buyer...

then worried about finding somewhere to buy, found a house...
then worried about survey and mortgage - now all in place.

My current "fear" is the chain falling apart with an added worry about having a medical to get life insurance to cover new mortgage. Also a smattering of worries about the practicalities of moving🤦‍♀️ .

One day i'll be sitting in the garden of my new house drinking a nice glass of something to celebrate and the worry will all be worth it 🤞

It is a really worrying time. Our first buyer pulled out and I was devastated, as our seller went back to market. Fortunately we found a new buyer reasonably quickly.
Thing is I was worried that reason x would be why our buyer pulled out and tried everything to avoid that (being super upfront about the issue, making sure we had all of the up to date paperwork etc.) and was blindsided by their actual reason. It was a good lesson as all of the worrying did no good.

Control what you can. Review things thoroughly. Sign and return things efficiently. Respond to questions quickly. That's about al you can do.
