Pull-out storage for ironing boar and iron

You know how you can get racks to fit on the inside wall of a tall kitchen unit so that you can hang up your ironing board? Can you get them as a fitting in a pull out larder cupboard?

if you mean the sort with a chromed wire frame inside that slides out, I doubt it.

I suppose you might possibly buy a pullout that was narrower than the cupboard, and put the ironing board beside it.

I wonder why not. If I put the ironing board in a 30cm unit, there's barely room for anything else in that unit because I need to be able to get my arm in to extract the board. Seems logical to be able to pull the board out on a rack, in the same way you can pull all sorts of other things out on racks.

I've ordered a pull out ironing board cupboard as part of my design for my utility room from DIY kitchens. It has arrived yet so can't comment any further but I presume other companies do something similar.

I mean something like this, so that I can put the steam generator iron on the bottom, and hang or prop the ironing board above it.

mm, side-mounted runners are better than the ones that rattle out.

Too technical. Please translate. Smile

it looks like it has two runners, as found in drawers, at the supporting side. These are similar to the design used in filing cabinets, they have ball bearings and can be quite strong.

I don't remember seeing them used as side supports like this, but I would expect them to run quite smoothly. Hafele and Blum are very good, the B&Q budget range, not.

there is also a design of wire-rack pull-out pantry storage unit that has a single runner at the bottom and one at the top. IME they tend to rattle, sometimes they jam. I am not keen on them.

I probably wouldn’t waste money to build some especially for an ironing board in the kitchen. Is there space for a pull out board elsewhere in the house? I find having them, with a steamer, in my wardrobe really helpful because I can then just put clothes straight away.
