Those who broke the chain and moved into rental - please tell me your positive stories

For fear of losing our buyer we broke the chain and are living with relatives before likely going into rental, as our dream house we took the risk for, doesn’t look like it’s happening.

I’m desperately desperately unhappy. I fear we’ve made a huge mistake and am pining for our old house, which looking back wasn’t so bad.

We are doing it. I’m excited to be honest. We are relocating so going to spend time treating it like a holiday. We are going to home school for a while too so don’t have to move the kids schools twice.

I did this last Decembrt and I'm still renting but it is a 12 month lease. I'm being very particular about what I want and house prices have been so inflated. I also missed out on a couple.

I think eventually it will work out for the best. Even renting is so much better than before.

Just to update that our has turned into a positive story. We matched the gazumper who then came back with a further £50k but the vendor said no. We exchanged yesterday. Good luck @Gettingonabitnow

We're doing this. Sold ours within 3 days, buyer paid over as she is desperate to move in. We're moving to my Mum's tiny bungalow. Thankfully we found a property we liked and are really hoping it's not too long before we can move in to our new place.
The hardest thing we found is cheap storage, everywhere is booked up. We have managed to bag a secure and local shipping container for £100pm which half the price of everything else.
