What colour is Mizzle in real life??

Hi - have ordered a sample, but am being impatient!
It was described as a blue grey, but it looks green to me?? It would be for a very open hallway leading to a navy/dove grey kitchen diner.
Too much? I feel like all I have done recently is consider paint colours

I have it in my kitchen diner - it’s a west facing room and a pale-ish green for me. It’s actually, come to think of it, a similar green to the mumsnet original post squares on this forum.

StripedSalamander · 10/07/2021 11:03

I have it in a south and west corner kitchen, it’s definitely a warm sagey green colour. Very lovely and great coverage but it’s definitely not as scrubbable as they’d have you think!

Fieldings15 · 10/07/2021 14:22

Looks green in my bathroom as well...

MayflowerMaisie · 10/07/2021 14:39

A very soft sage green.

Quornflakegirl · 10/07/2021 14:41

Cromity was more green than Mizzle in our sunny bedroom.

tothesea · 10/07/2021 14:45

We thought it was a darkish muddy green! We went with Cromarty..lighter grey green.

Musmerian · 10/07/2021 15:00

Yes - agree with muddy green. Teresa’s Green is much nicer.

GeidiPrimes · 10/07/2021 15:07

I have a cat called Mizzle, and he's black and white Grin

HotChoc10 · 10/07/2021 15:39

A grey-ish green. Look at the #mizzle tag on instagram there's loads of examples.

inmylifeIlovedthemall · 10/07/2021 15:48

A dirty green / grey in my north facing room.

One slight word of warning. I am having a nightmare with F&B right now.

Painting Ammonite onto a previously cream wall. My very experienced painter is now on the fourth coat and still it is streaky in evening light. It is also crazing over filler.

Said painter says he has never seen F&B paint so thin. F&B say it is his fault for not using a primer first.

My whole house if F&B, as was the last house.

I wont be using it again !!

Flowers500 · 10/07/2021 23:52

Gorgeous colour, sort of neutral-ish green

Who described it as blue grey, it’s a grey - green on the website. It’s definitely a sage colour. I think with navy / dove grey, a colour on the pink / peach side might look nice.

There's been previous threads on here about Mizzle which have described it as close to Valspar's 'Snow on the pines'. I have that Valspar colour in a very shaded living room and been very happy with it. Green with enough blue for a northern light.

Cheermonger · 11/07/2021 20:38

It’s a grey green neutral. Gorgeous colour

NoToast · 11/07/2021 20:39

Should also say, I use Valspar or colour match with other brands as I don't find F&B easy to use. I also have a family member who is a professional painter/decorator and won't touch F&B.

Mapless · 11/07/2021 20:41

It's a light grey-green. Not blue. If you want a green-blue then try FB's green-blue. I have Mizzle in my kitchen diner and it's calming. I put Cromarty in the utility room as there's less light in there. But it looks like the same colour in lower light..

I also love Theresa's Green which has no grey tone and is a very soft green..

OrangeSamphire · 11/07/2021 20:45

Mizzle is definitely a greyish green.

I've used it a lot in my house (Cornish cottage) and it goes on beautifully with a brush. I absolutely love using F&B as the finish is gorgeous.

IMO a lot of decorators don't like F&B because you really can't whack it on with a roller and job done. It benefits from more considered, slow work.

plus3 · 11/07/2021 21:17

Thanks all, it came from the website

It's interesting seeing the post above. The family member who is a decorator does specialist painting. They are a degrease and rub down, 2 coats of primer and 3 coats of paint with a brush type and they are paid accordingly. Not slapping it on with a roller.

F&B get really mixed reviews on here which I find really interesting. Lots of fans who would absolutely swear by it and some other views.

MayflowerMaisie · 12/07/2021 08:43

I have a few of their “blue grey” shades all of them are green!

ChristopherTracy · 12/07/2021 10:58

In my sons north facing room it is very grey. Almost no green at all.

Justbetweenus · 12/07/2021 11:02

It will depend on the light and the time of day. North and east facing rooms tend to have a flatter, cooler light compared to south and west facing rooms which have a warmer light. Artificial light (and whether you have warm or cool bulbs) will make the colour look different in the evening vs. natural daylight. So none of us can tell you!! Get the test pot, paint big patches (two coats) on different walls, and then look at at different times of the day.

dontcallmelen · 12/07/2021 11:14

My north facing front from, greenish/grey I wanted something slightly darker so went with valspar 700 green/grey linen.

A wonderful colour....neither cold nor warm, a pale sage green. I wish I had used more of it. The other daring choice was Stiffkey blue for a guest room with very little light. It's marvellous - :rich and so deep you could just sink into it. I've been pretty pale elsewhere - elephan. t's breath, skimming stone, ammonite, wevet. But mizzle and Stiffket are now my favourites.
