How would you 'refresh' this 90s style kitchen?

I can't afford to properly renew or replace the kitchen, so I've been looking at cupboard and worktop paints (and wondering about tiles...).

Can anyone suggest some nice colourways to repaint in? And do you know where to get better, less dated door handles?

Thanks for any advice and thoughts!

Good job!

That’s the perfect colour.

For floor tile painting have a look at the dizzy duck stencils Facebook page. Even if you aren’t stencilling there’s advice on what type of paint and sealant for different tiles.

Thank you! I will look on there as that will be useful. I'm dabbling with the idea of vinyl click flooring which I've seen on offer and promises to be easy to install... but at the same time I'm wanting to stop adding new diy tasks to the list!

Astounded at how well the kitchen had turned out. Currently looking to buy a property with a dated kitchen and budget would mean I would need to do a low cost refurb so getting some great inspiration here. Brilliant job

Op it looks amazing!!
Absolutely so much better!!
You must be thrilled! I'm still in awe of the your tiling skills.

Paint the cupboards in a paint that does not require any undercoat or other treatment - we have just done our son's. Our other son just got his worktops wrapped professionally - cost £300 and looks great. You can also get your units wrapped if you want to go down that route. Get new handles in Ikea and get an acrylic splashback in a colour dark enough to cover the tiles - very easy to fit and looks great. Please don't paint the tiles - it looks terrible after a while.

Advice too late, looks great - amazing what you can do on a budget now.

Just found this thread! Love it! You've done a great job!

@Colourgreen - did you do the new wall tiles yourself? If so, was it your first time?

I’ve got an area I want to tile. Ki d of want to save money by doing it myself, but also think getting someone in to do it makes more sense!
